Your vehicle's paint can have quite a few different types imperfections. Swirl marks, scratches, orange peel, and oxidation. Swirl marks are very thin circular scratches, these are caused by improper hand washing or automatic washes. Scratches occur when something hard comes into contact with your vehicles paint. Orange peel occurs when the vehicle's paint is over applied or dries too quickly, this makes the paint's texture resemble the skin of an orange. Oxidation is the fading of the paint and is caused by not waxing or applying a proper paint sealant as often as needed.

Whenever it comes to fixing these issues, we use different methods depending on the type of imperfection we are dealing with and the severity of the problem. For more serious issues such as deeper scratches or orange peel, if we have enough clear coat to work with, we will use wet sandpaper to remove them. Scratches that are not as severe can be removed with compound, and swirl marks can be removed with regular polish. After we remove all of the defects and polish the car, we will then use a finishing polish and go over the vehicle again and top it off with either a wax, a paint sealant, or a ceramic coating. These imperfections will come back if your vehicle is not cleaned or detailed correctly.

After we have detailed your vehicle and performed a paint correction, there are a few different things we can put on your vehicle's paint and we have some suggestions for you to decide for yourself. We can either put a wax on it, which in our opinion looks best on darker colored vehicles or those getting a stage-1 paint correction - because wax naturally fills in some scratches or swirl marks. This lasts for 3 months. For lighter colored cars, we recommend a paint sealant as this will help it shine brighter than a wax can. This lasts for 6 months. We also recommend a ceramic coating for any type of vehicle as it is superior than a wax or a sealant and can last for 3 years to the vehicle's lifetime.
